About me
I was born to be alive in Brussels. Bruxelles, ma belle.
Godelieve, meaning God’s beloved, became my mother on the 22nd of January 1964.
My father Jean wasn’t allowed to be present when I was born cause there were not married.
So, even being God’s beloved you could be excluded by the Catholic nuns running that clinic.
Has this sad event influenced my vision of religions and of the world?
I like to think all religions have a common ground. This is one of the reasons I do love Kerala, God’s own country.
Kerala is a state in the south of India where a multitude of cults live in almost perfect and colourful harmony.
And harmony is what I am looking for.
Harmony, freedom, beauty, justice, wonder, adventure, literature, music, wild nature, food, flowers, birds, languages and most of all meeting people make me happy.
On the very first day and very first hour of 1997 I became a mother too. Milan, Arno, Yol Lavallee was born in the waters of Ostend at the seaside in Belgium.
Milan is a bird and a city, Arno is a bathroom singer and a river, Yol (pronounced [joɫ]; translated as The Way, The Road or The Path) is a 1982 Turkish film directed by Şerif Gören and Yılmaz Güney and in French is “une yole” a skiff (Embarcation légère, étroite et allongée, propulsée à l’aviron). Lavallee means the valley.
Milan is now a wonderful young man. He is free, he is light, he is original and needless to say he is adored.
